The story Of International Women's Day

For more than a century, people worldwide have been marking 8 March as a special day for women.

International Women's Day (IWD) has been observed since the early 1900s - a time of significant expansion and turbulence in the industrialized world that saw booming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies.

International Women's Day grew out of the labor movement to become an annual event recognized by the United Nations.
