Practice-Based Teacher Education
Practice-Based Teacher Education (PBTE) is a pedagogy that recycles experience and practical applications in teacher training. It integrates theoretical knowledge with actual classroom practice, enabling prospective teachers to develop the skills and competencies necessary for effective teaching in real-world settings.
The Practice-Based Teacher Education is made up of a set of major features namely: highly concentrated field experiences, working in partnership with universities and K-12 schools, and reflection as a form of practice. These features serve to bridge the beneficiary's teaching theory to practice, get guidance from experienced teachers, and co-administer the mentorship program, and the teacher candidate has to evaluate his/her own efficiency in teaching methods used in the class.
In contrast to the conventional teacher training programs that focus more on theoretical studies, Practice-Based Teacher Education emphasizes the significance of practical experiences in the real classrooms.
