Bridge-Building Activities
The bridge-building activities are, in general, the interactive exercises which are made to improve the collaboration, communication, and trust that exists between team members or participants. These activities are, indeed, the principal means for establishing links, overcoming obstacles, and building a freeling, especially in heterogeneous or new groups.
Bridges are being built by team-building exercises, collaborative problem-solving tasks, and, of course, icebreaker games, for example, 'Two Truths and a Lie.' The activities make it easy for the participants to tell personal stories, achieve a common goal together, and develop mutual understanding during the course of the event.
Bridge-building activities are good in that they develop teamwork through promoting free communication and eliminating social barriers. For example, while the members of the group take part in outdoor interesting adventures or creative group projects, they realize that each one of them has some special and best strength which is a basis for the group to cooperate together and in that way, they build a solid teamwork team dynamic.
Integrating varied groups in the process of building bridges is essential not only for the development of and respect for the differing attitudes but also for the promotion of the aforementioned attitudes. This diversity creates conditions for peer education and a more empathetic interpersonal atmosphere, which are driving factors for creativity and ultimately, a more harmonious workplace.
Virtual teams can customize their bridge-building activities by putting different online tools and platforms that would ease their interaction like virtual escape rooms, video conferencing icebreakers, or collaborative online games. These activities promote emotional and cultural connections among remote team members, thus making them feel engaged and valued despite the distance that exists physically.
